2020-2021 Grants Awarded

$25,000 Consolidated Grant

With a unique 2020-21 school year looming, the WEF board made an unprecedented decision in August of 2020 to award $25,000, all of the year’s grant funds, to the district for the purchase A/V technology that would enhance the remote learning experience for teachers and students.

This largest single grant in WEF’s history funded a pilot technology program across the seven schools in the district. In consultation with WEF, Superintendent Doug Lyons and WPS Technology Director Jeff Weiner used the funds to purchase 40 portable Logitech ConferenceCam CONNECT units which include a camera with a 90-degree field of view, an omni-directional microphone, a speaker that connects to a PC, and a remote control.

Teachers used these units for instruction both from their homes and from their classrooms.
