WEF Honors Mr. Andrew Tetrault with the Impact Award
The Wakefield Educational Foundation hosted its 30th annual Celebration of Learning on Wednesday April 15th. WEF celebrated students, staff and volunteers who exemplify the core values of their schools and go above and beyond in their efforts and contributions to the Wakefield Public Schools. At the end of the program several special recognition awards were presented including the Impact Award.
Superintendent Dr. Doug Lyons presented the Impact Award to Galvin Middle School Assistant Principal, Mr. Andrew Tetrault in appreciation for the positive impact he has on students, teachers and the entire Galvin Middle School. Dr. Lyons referred to Tetrault’s commitment as “truly something special.” Lyons continued, “It’s hard to imagine Galvin Middle School without Andrew. Not only was he once a student there, but he has devoted nearly his entire professional career to building, strengthening, and uplifting the Galvin community. His impact isn’t just visible, it’s deeply felt by every student, staff member, and family he works with.”
Dr. Lyons went on to describe Mr. Tetrault’s extraordinary qualities, “Andrew is a student-centered administrator who leads with compassion, purpose, and a deep belief in the potential of every child.” His colleagues describe Andrew as an individual who is “deeply supportive of their work and who encourages colleagues to be their best selves, not through pressure, but through kindness, humor, and a steady presence, especially during challenging times. Andrew embodies the Galvin iCARE values each and every day, demonstrating compassion, integrity, and a commitment to helping others grow. He notices effort, celebrates progress, and consistently ensures that those around him feel valued and appreciated.”
Dr. Lyons also relayed WEF’s appreciation for Mr. Tetrault. “Andrew also holds a special place in the WEF community as the annual Spelling Bee emcee. The WEF team cannot say enough about the energy, humor, and positivity he brings to the role, making the event a continued success year after year.”
After Lyons spoke of Andrew’s many contributions to Galvin and the Wakefield Public Schools, Dr. Lyons and WEF President, Jamee Paolillo presented the Award to Mr. Tetrault. Unbeknownst to Tetrault, his family was in attendance and surprised and celebrated with him as he received this special recognition.
