Doyle Staff and Volunteer Honored at WEF’s Celebration of Learning

The Wakefield Educational Foundation recently celebrated Doyle School staff and a dedicated volunteer who exemplify the core values of their school and go above and beyond in their efforts and contributions to the Wakefield Public Schools. Although Doyle Principal Erin Manzi was unable to attend the event, former principal Shannon Blacker was honored to share her prepared remarks.  Doyle Teachers Susan DeAngelis and Nicole Chabre were celebrated for their leadership in the classroom. DeAngelis is known for the warmth she brings to the classroom, and the social skills she helps develop in her students. Chabre is an innovator who brings creativity to Doyle, helping students to grow with confidence. Longtime volunteer, Carole Companeschi, was recognized for inspiring a lifelong love of reading for students at Doyle, who “gather around her like she’s Mother Goose.” WEF congratulates Doyle’s honorees on their lasting contributions to early childhood education.

WEF’s mission is to bring the community together to build and sustain educational excellence with innovative and creative programs that impact the Wakefield Public Schools.  To support its grant process, WEF receives generous funding from key local business partners, private donors, and a series of annual fundraisers, including WEF’s Wakefield Public Schools Calendar showcasing student art; the S.T.A.R.S. program recognizing exemplary WPS staff; the Online Auction and the Adult Spelling Bee. WEF has awarded over $770,000 across the Wakefield Public Schools since 1989. Learn more by following WEF on Twitter or Facebook, or go to WEF01880.org.
