Greenwood Students, Staff, and Volunteers Honored at WEF’s Celebration of Learning

The Wakefield Educational Foundation celebrated Greenwood School at its annual Celebration of Learning on April 15, 2026. Students, staff, and volunteers who exemplify the core values of Greenwood school and who go above and beyond in their efforts and contributions to the Wakefield Public Schools were recognized by Principal Tiffany Back. Student awardees Kazim H. Atoui, Grace Kitowicz, Evelyn Kressirer, Reina Miloszewski, and Trent O’Neil were nominated by their fourth grade peers and recognized for consistently demonstrating the qualities and characteristics of Greenwood Cares: Cooperation, Assertiveness, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-control. Principal Back honored Whitney Collins and Lisa Connell, both Moderate Special Needs teachers, as her staff recipients. In speaking of Collins and Connell, Back said, “One of the core values of Wakefield Public Schools is to inspire the love of learning. Lisa and Whitney do this for students every single day. At the heart of this statement is the deeply held belief that every student can grow, and Lisa and Whitney do everything within their power to help children experience success.“ Volunteers Leigh Kelter and Krista Kitowicz were recognized for their many contributions to the Greenwood School, such as helping organize presentations, write grants, and organize book fairs. Back quipped that her two volunteer honorees, Leigh Kelter and Krista Kitowicz, who “show up anytime we need them, they're always there whenever we need help,” were ironically unavailable to receive recognition in person on this special night. WEF congratulates Greenwood School’s honorees on their positive contributions to the Wakefield Public Schools.
