WEF’s STARS recipients honored
One hundred and twelve Wakefield Public Schools staff members were recognized by the Wakefield Educational Foundation’s (WEF) STARS program during Teachers Appreciation Week in May.
The unique STARS (Staff and Teachers Are Really Special) program allows donors to acknowledge those who make significant contributions to their child’s education.
Each honoree received a personalized WEF STARS certificate featuring the donor’s name for each gift made in their honor.
In addition to recognizing excellence in teaching and administration, donors’ contributions directly support the WEF grant program which provides funding for educational enrichment programs that enhance the learning experience for all students in Wakefield Public Schools.
To support the grant process, WEF receives generous funding from key local business partners, private donors, and a series of annual fundraisers including: WEF’s Wakefield Public Schools Calendar showcasing student art; the S.T.A.R.S. program recognizing exemplary WPS staff; the Online Auction and the Adult Spelling Bee.
